Don't worry.  The Okami no Mure are still very much alive.  Even moreso.

The big news: the Okami no Mure anime screenings are moving from the cold, dark underground (okay, Mac and Mariel's house) to a bit more of a public venue.

Effective Friday, September 26, the meetings will from here on out be located at Rublemizer's, Springfield's newest comics and collectible shop, located in the south end of the Tower Theater Shopping Center on South Glenstone Avenue.

Also effective September 26, the meetings will move from its previous bi-weekly schedule to every second and fourth Friday.

The ONM mini-site is going under some reconstruction in lieu of our relocation and reorganization, so bear with us as we get everything back up and running.

THE VISION OF ESCAFLOWNE, 7:00 p.m.

High school track star Hitomi Kanzaki (Maaya Sakamoto [Reika Mishima in RahXephon]) in is swept into an otherworldly experience when she is transported through an interdimensional rift to the world of Gaia, a realm of magic, dragons, and giant steam-driven mechanoids called "guymelefs."  She joins deposed monarch Van Fanel (Tomokazu Seki [Kyo Sohma in Fruits Basket]) is his quest to ally the numerous kingdoms of Gaia against the murderous armies of the expansionist Zaibach Empire.

NEXT EPISODE: "The Day the Angel Flew."  Hitomi and Van take a brief respite from their flight from Zaibach to talk about their families; Millerna and Gaddes work to free Allen.

RUROUNI KENSHIN, 7:30 p.m.

Kenshin Himura (Mayo Suzukaze [Mary Shalott in Le Chevalier d'Eon]), once the feared assassin called "Battousai the Manslayer," forsook his murderous past and has embarked on a journey as a carefree wanderer.  His wanderings brought him to the home of kendo instructor Kaoru Kamiya (Miki Fujitani [Chun Li in Street Fighter II: The Movie]), who has offered the beleaguered vagabond a home.  But Kenshin's storied reputation is a magnet for old enemies and swordmasters obsessed with gaining the prestige of being the one to defeat the legendary Battousai. 

NEXT EPISODE: "Bon Voyage"  With the surrender of Shougo Amakusa and the return of Kenshin's eyesight, attention turns to what will be done with Shougo and his followers.

Father Abel Nightroad (Hiroki Touchi [Takumi Kusaka in Zipang]) seems like a kindly yet bumbling priest to those he meets in his travels, yet his easygoing demeanor hides two important secrets.  The first is Abel's true position as an agent of AX, a special-ops branch of the Vatican.  The second is his true nature as a Crusnik, a breed of vampire that feeds on the blood of other vampires.  Abel is tasked with policing a world in which the balance of power between humans and vampires is in constant shift.

Okinawan high-schooler Saya Otonashi (Eri Kitamura [Tatiana Wisla in Last Exile]) lived a happy life with her father and two brothers, until the truth of her existence came to light.  Saya is in truth a centuries-old hunter of Chiropterans, humans that can transform into vicious vampiric demons.  Though Saya is at first reluctant to accept her destined path, emerging memories and the rising threat of Chiropteran incursion may make her choice for her.

Toudou Academy isn't your average high school, and teenage brawlers Souichiro Nagi and Bob Makihara (Souichiro Hoshi [Son Goku in Saiyuki] and Shinichiro Miki [Kurz Weber in Full Metal Panic]) are finding that out fast.  The school is broken up into clubs each devoted to the mastery of the martial arts, and the rivalry between the clubs is brutal in the extreme.  In an attempt to become strong enough to survive their new school, Souichiro and Bob join up with the upstart Juken Club, led by the enigmatic (and sometimes childlike) Maya Natsume (Aya Hisakawa [Keroberos in Cardcaptor Sakura]).

NEXT EPISODE: "True Meaning." Souchiro and Bob quit Todo Academy in protest of Maya's expulsion; Aya's exposure to the Choukuto Reiki sword begins to eat away at her mental stability.

War photographer Tatsumi Saiga (Yuuji Takada [Frank in Argento Soma]) finds himself eking out a joyless living as a tabloid shutterbug in a city rife with corruption and depravity.  At the center of it all is the Roppongi Club, an underground conclave for the wealthy elite that caters to the most twisted and perverted of desires.  While investigating the club, Saiga comes in contact with Kagura Tennouzu (Kei Saitou), by day the abused daughter of a powerful socialite and the club's unwilling "goddess" by night.  Contact with Kagura gives Saiga the ability to cause anything he photographs to explode, an ability both blessing and curse.  On the run with Kagura from the Roppongi Group and their nihilistic leader Suitengu (Toshiyuki Morikawa [Mistuomi Takayanagi in Tenjho Tenge]), Saiga wages a one-man crusade to topple the club and its masters.

NEXT EPISODE: "A Sudden Change in Mother's Sickness."  Once again in possession of the obsessed Hibari Ginza, Saiga is helpless to prevent Ginza from turning Kagura back over to her mother and Suitengu.
